A report not in the Sarasota Herald Tribune, the Black-Tie Sarasota Observer mullet wrapper, SRQ or other Sarasota major media outlets not covering the underbelly of teen violence in Sarasota, but in TAMPA BAY FOX 14 --- "Sarasota teen arrested in shooting death of 14-year-old, police say."
Sarasota Police Department (SPD) officers responded to a crime scene last Friday night at 1518 29th Street in Sarasota and when they arrived, they found a young 14-year victim dead inside the home.

The gun violence was a major issue in the firing of former City of Sarasota Policy Chief Bernadette DePino and the defeat of Sarasota City Commissioner Willie Shaw.
There has been no improvement from two new SPD police chief's or Shaw's replacement, who is the former unlicensed masseur and dog walker, Sarasota City Commissioner Kyle Battie.
Shaw's replacement, Battie has been seen more HIP/HOPPING AND HAPPENING around downtown cocktail lounges than on the night beat with police patrols in his North Sarasota neighborhoods, as his predecessor Shaw did on numerous occasions.
Battie can be seen more HIP/HOPPING AND HAPPENING around downtown and other Sarasota "watering holes" from his late model BMW than an SPD police car patrolling North Sarasota neighborhoods.
The BMW is a big improvement from when Battie was peddling around without a driver's license on his bicycle, which was before becoming a Sarasota City Commissioner.
That is Battie laying in Downtown Sarasota gutter last Christmas Eve
Battie is coming up on his 1-year anniversary of spending last Christmas Eve getting drunk and ending up in gutter in downtown Sarasota, which was after threatening family members leaving a Palm Avenue restaurant that he was he was going to "fuck them up."
Battie had spent hours according to witnesses with a fellow named Guy Jensen, who has a record of attacking a law enforcement officer and a documented serious drinking problem before he got punched out. Let us hope Battie spends this Christmas Eve out of Downtown Sarasota bars getting drunk. https://www.heraldtribune.com/story/opinion/columns/2021/01/06/opinion-sound-judgment-not-fashion-during-batties-holiday-brawl/6570642002/
Kyle Battie may have been lying on the sidewalk on Christmas Eve, inebriated and unconscious, with a broken nose and missing tooth, but darned if he wasn’t dressed to the nines for that evening ...
IS IT TIME FOR NEW CHIEFS OF CITY POLICE/CITY COMMISSIONERS AND GETTING BATTIE OUT OF DOWNTOWN BARS?
Is not way past time that the Sarasota City Police Department and members of the Sarasota City Commissioner get their heads out of the sand and publicly recognize we have a serious gun violence going on in the City of Sarasota----CHANGING POLICE CHIEFS AND CITY COMMISSIONERS CERTAINLY DID NOT CHANGE 14-YEAR-OLD'S RUNNING AROUND WITH GUNS IN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS MURDERING EACH OTHER.
