LARGEST SARASOTA COUNTY REPUBLICAN CLUB LEAVES RPOF AND BECOMES THE AMERICA FIRST CAUCUS OF SW FL
AMERICA FIRST ORGANIZATION DESIRES NO PART OF LOCAL ESTABLISHMENT UNIPARTY
Days after the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) elected an establishment Tallahassee lobbyist Evan Power over a proclaimed America First candidate Peter Feaman, the largest Republican club in Southwest Florida leaves the RPOF and becomes the America First Southwest Florida Caucus.
James Hoel was elected Chairman of the newly formed America First organization with Terry Angley as the Vice Chairman and Donna DiFlorio as the Treasurer.
Angley stated, “We may have lost one of the largest Republican clubs in Sarasota County, but we've gained an equally large America First Club with flexible by-laws that will enable them to campaign and elect conservative Republicans.“

The decision to return their charter of The Republican Club of South Sarasota County to the RPOF was contemplated before the election of Power or before the removal of Christian Ziegler as Chairman of the RPOF. It exemplifies a major split between the establishment Republican Party and America First grassroots activists.

It is a clear message, that in the bastion of Republican conservatism in Sarasota County, no longer will America First grassroots activists go in lock step with the local REC establishment led by Jack Brill.

America First grassroots activists, who in 2022 election brought home three Sarasota County School Board candidates’ victories in order to create a conservative School Board, only to see it become just another School Board in the hands of the local Sarasota UNIPARTY establishment, has had it with Brill and his establishment REC.
The decision to return the charter to the RPOF has been considered ever since Brill became the local establishment’s chairman of the Sarasota County Republican Executive Committee (REC).
Brunni
Brill defeated the America First candidate Connie Brunni in a close election for Chairman of the REC last December. Brunni was the leader of the America First grassroots organization that was the major factor in Sarasota County Republican election victories in the 2022
election cycle.
Brunni has since become President of Sarasota County Republican Assembly, which is an organization of over 150 members with no connection to the local REC or RPOF.
Members of the Sarasota County Republican Assembly and the newly formed America First Southwest Florida Caucus are strong supporters of retired General Michael Flynn, who Brill has made disparaging remarks concerning Flynn involvement in local Republican activities.
The meeting to split from Brill and his establishment REC took place before over 150 members of the organization at the site, where retired General Flynn has hosted rallies of overflow crowds in support of former President Donald Trump.
AMERICA FIRST ACTIVISTS HAVE ISSUES WITH BRILL’S LEADERSHIP
The split of America First grassroots activists from the RPOF was more of a split from Brill’s leadership of the local REC and his inability to be the person to lead the Sarasota County Republican Party in the 2024 election cycle.
With the stunning loss in the recent Venice City elections, when two Democrats defeated two Republican in the bastion of Republican conservatism in Southwest Florida, it has become apparent to local politician observers that local REC chairman Brill is a totally incompetent political operative.
Rothbauer going door to door in charge of Brill's failed Venice grassroots campaign
Brill putting his handpicked Vice Chairwoman of the local REC, Alice Rothbauer in charge of the Venice grassroots campaign was an example of Brill’s total lack of political acumen, as Rothbauer was shown to be completely incompetent in leading any political grassroots campaign.
Brill’s believing, he could lead a grassroots campaign without the full support of the local American First grassroots organization led by Brunni turned into a complete disaster in the Venice City election.
The Brill led campaign in Venice was a total disaster without the involvement of great majority of America First grassroots volunteers. Without full America First grassroots support, Brill’s led REC establishment in 2024 election cycle will be a paper tiger.

ISSUES WITH NEVER TRUMP—NEAL IN CONROL OF REC
The America First activists, also have had issues with the local REC being controlled by the local establishment “Pay to Play” developer and former Democrat Florida State Senator for 12 years, Pat Neal. America First activists also have problems with Neal’s political operative, Bob Waechter.
BRILL MOUTHPIECE FOR NEAL AND CONVICTED CRIMINAL WAECHTER
Waechter is three-time arrested criminal (once for political fraud), who has run the REC for Neal and his cronies after Neal sent former local REC Chair Joe Gruters packing to Tallahassee, as his handpicked Florida State Senator.
Waechter runs the local REC out of his office on Sawyer Road where the paid Executive Director of the local REC, Kelly Irwin is employed. Brill is just a mouthpiece for Neal and his political operative, Waechter.
NEAL AND HIS CRONIES CONTROL LOCAL REC AND UNI PARTY
Neal, who is the Democrat turned Republican establishment "never Trump" took control of the REC when then Chairman of the local REC in 2015, Joe Gruters turned over the party to Neal after a salacious allegation on social media threaten Gruters political career.
The message to Gruters was made clear -- become just another Neal political hack and your problems go away. Gruters agreed and his political career has flourished, as a flunky for Neal.

The REC under the leadership of Brill, Gruters and the deposed Chairman of RPOF Christian Ziegler allowed local “Pay to Play” establishment developers to take control of local REC, which has become part of the local UNI PARTY.

This newly established America First Caucus of SW FL. is sending a clear message that they are not going be in lock step with REC establishment candidates financed by Neal and his cronies, who are stuffed in the pockets of Neal and his cronies.

The Executive Board of the Republican Club of South Sarasota County (RCSSC) found itself in an
unfortunate situation brought about by changes to the Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) bylaws voted into effect by its principal leadership, in response to these changes our board reached out to the RPOF on several occasions, hoping to find common ground in this situation. unfortunately, we were not able to reach an amicable solution and decided the risk posed by these rule changes outweighed any benefit of keeping our ties with the RPOF simply to use the name "Republican Club''.
For over 25 years, our club worked autonomously running our affairs and building our treasury without RPOF/REC assistance. Ultimately, we had no choice but to exit immediately from under the Republican umbrella, resign our charter and form a new organization adopting a movement better encompassing the moral culture of a majority of our membership, these include working toward goals such as, minimal government, self-governance through cooperation and volunteerism, a strong military deterrence, controlled borders, voter ID, fair elections, listening to the voters, the non-aggression principle, the self�defense principle (second amendment), support of our Constitutional Republic (not a democracy), and a return to Natures Laws and Nature's God into our culture and lives as noted by the opening of our Declaration of Independence.
We believe “America First Southwest Florida Caucus,” does and will embrace all of the above. The
America First SWFL Caucus, will as always be open and look forward to working with the Republican Party of Florida in whatever capacity when we find ourselves on common ground with them.
