Ever since a 68 convicted felon Michael Barfield and Paul Caragiulo and Joe Barbetts joined together with DINO (Democrats In Name Only) political operatives in 2015 the Sarasota City Commission has become near dysfunctional and in the control of "Pay to Play" developers at the Argus Foundation.
With the election of Democrat Jennifer Ahearn Koch and Republican Dan Lobeck to the
Sarasota City Commission, "Pay to Play" developers at Argus control of City Hall can begin to end.
It’s hard to describe the politically outrageous climate of 2015 which led "Pay to Play"
Democrats In Name Only (DINO) like Rita Ferrandino, Dianne Hamiton, Gabriel
Hament, and Susan Nilon and other Democratic activists joined together with a
68 convicted felon Michael Barfield and Paul Caraguilo and Joe Barbetta
to turn Sarasota City Hall over to "Pay to Play" developers at the Argus Foundation.
They bonded in order to concoct a scenario to defeat neighborhood supported Republican Eileen Normile and Stan Zimmerman and put their less qualified Democrat opponents on the Sarasota City Commission and begin to turn over Sarasota City Hall to Argus.

This coalition in 2015 funded tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of mailers solicited from financial sources out of Orlando.
They managed to violate both the spirit and letter of the City's charter both with the unprecedented injection of partisanship, and the violation of campaign finance limitations; limitations that were passed into law overwhelmingly by 88% of City of Sarasota voters just a few years earlier.

Play" gangster Developers.
Robinson while a County Commissioner was appointed Executive Director of the Argus Foundation by then Argus President David Merrill III.

Merrill is third generation "rainmaker" attorney for "Pay to Play" gangster developers, who have turned "Pay to Play" developments into cash cows for those who have corrupted Sarasota County. Merrill and his cronies at Argus have made $millions turning Sarasota
into an eventual urban sprawl disaster like Ft. Lauderdale.

City Hall observers said it was like the Dave Chappelle show episode of the blind, African American white supremacist Klu Klux Klan leader seeing Arroyo there with his self-professed mentor and father-figure, Hyde, who just months earlier had been caught on video yelling at Latino teenagers in Sarasota to learn how to speak English and “go cut my grass.”

It made no difference to Brody that since Battie returned to Sarasota eight years ago, after going to Miami's South Beach and New York, as he says, "to follow his dream as a model," that Battie had not joined his Amaryllis Neighborhood Association, or any City of Sarasota City Advisory Board or similar community association or organization.
