BRILL NEEDS TO GO IF LOCAL REC IS TO BE UNITED IN 2024 ELECTION CYCLE
WITHOUT AMERICA FIRST GRASSROOTS SUPPORT-BRILL’S LED REC ESTABLISHMENT IN 2024 ELECTION CYCLE IS A PAPER TIGER
It was apparent to political observers that after the stunning loss in the recent Venice City elections when two Democrats defeated two Republican in the bastion of Republican conservatism in Southwest Florida, that local REC chairman Jack Brill is a totally incompetent political operative.

Brill’s believing, he could lead a grassroots campaign without the full support of the local American First grassroots organization led by Connie Brunni turned into a complete disaster in the Venice City election.
Instead of putting Brunni, who is the most competent Sarasota County grassroots organizer in charge of grassroots efforts, Brill selected the totally incompetent field organizer Alice Rothbauer to manage the get out the vote operations.
The Brill led campaign in Venice was a total disaster without the involvement of a great majority of America First grassroots volunteers, who no longer will engage in any campaign managed by Brill.
Ziegler
ZIEGLER MAJOR FORCE IN AMERICA FIRST RED WHITE AND BLUE LONG GONE
Now with former local Republican Party of Florida (RPOF) Chairman Christian Ziegler, who is recognized by any credible political operative that his digital company Microtargeting Media was a moving force in turning Sarasota and the rest of Florida Red White and Blue long gone, a Brill led local campaign will be a major problem. In turning Sarasota American First Red White and Blue, Ziegler had major support from grass roots American First activists.

Ziegler led winning elections in Sarasota and beyond and took RPOF Chairman Joe Gruters and Brill along for the ride. Any claims that Gruters and Brill were the moving force in moving Sarasota or Florida America First Republican Red White and Blue in 2022 is false.
REPUBLICAN AMERICA FIRST GRASSROOTS ACTIVISTS MOVING ON FROM BRILL AND LOCAL REC
The largest Sarasota Republican Club in Sarasota County has moved on from Brill’s led local REC. They have recently turned in their RPOF charter and formed the America First SWFL Caucus.
In addition, Brunni along with other American First grassroots activists have formed with over 200 members the Sarasota County Republican Assembly Chapter (SCRC) in the bastion of Sarasota County Republican conservatism.
Brunni as the President of SCRC has emailed Brill stating, “We are engaged with other local conservative clubs in interviewing candidates for a variety of offices up for election in 2024 with the intention of endorsing candidates in specific races for the primary to be held 8/20/24. This letter is a cease-and-desist demand to stop the falsehoods you (Brill) have made regarding our organization. Any further malicious falsehoods will require us to seek all remedies available to preserve our reputation up to and including litigation.”
With the creation of the SCRC and the America First SWFL Caucus a major split between the establishment local REC under Brill's leadership and America First Republican grassroots activists has been created.
AMERICA FIRST MOVEMENT NOT IN LOCK STEP WITH BRILL’S LED REC
It has now become apparent that local America First Republican activists will have no more to do with Brill and his led local REC. No more UNIPARTY for America First Republicans.
These America First activists will no longer go in lock step with a Brill leadership that is stuffed in the pockets of Neal and his “Pay to Play” cronies.
In addition, these activists will no longer go in lock step with candidates stuffed in the pockets of "Pay to Play" developer Pat Neal and his cronies.
BRILL POLITICAL NOVICE
Brill is a political novice with no background running any political campaign and has no business running the local REC. Brill is a failed businessman, who was recently downsized from his former employer, Mertz Foods for lack of productivity. Brill is presently working for a food outfit out Warner Robbins Georgia called GOLDEN GOURMET.
Before sent packing by Mertz Foods, Brill did on three occasions have Mertz cater three REC events: 1) 11/20/20--$9,133 2) 1/28/22-$17,847 3) 3/23/22--$12,491. Brill was also able to get a Mertz no bid contract with Sarasota County Government.
BRILL IS A NEAL/BENDERSON/BERUFF/JENSEN FLUNKY
Brill was handpicked by local “Pay to Play” developer Pat Neal, who along with Randy Benderson, Carlos Beruff and Rex Jensen control the local REC for their financial benefit, turning Sarasota into Paradise lost.
In the last election cycle the four developers stuffed the local REC with a total of $55,000 from Neal; $105,000 from Benderson; $75,000 from Jensen; $10,000 from Beruff, which is pocket change to these gangsters to corrupt the local political process.
With control of the local REC all local candidates after making the trip to Neal’s Communities offices in Lakewood Ranch and kissing Neal’s ring, they become the REC favorited and stuffed in Neal’s and his cronies’ pockets.

Brill was handpicked by Neal and his cronies when they took control of the REC after sending Gruters on to be one of their legislative lackies in Tallahassee back in 2015.
Brill once in charge, he became the mouthpiece for Neal’s political operative Bob Waechter, who is three-time arrested criminal (once for political fraud) member of the REC.
Waechter runs the local REC out of his office on Sawyer Road where the paid Executive Director of the local REC, Kelly Irwin is employed.

The Venice defeat of Brill’s establishment strategy of stuffing mailboxes with mailers financed by the $thousands from Neal and his “Pay to Play” contributions will not bring out the voters like they did in the 2022 election cycle without America First grassroots activists.
Brill's attempt to take out the anti-Neal developers Single Member District referendum failed miserably when Brill paid a Las Vegas “door knocking” company over $40,000 in a losing campaign to take out SMD.

Brill putting his handpicked Vice Chairperson of the local REC Alice Rothbauer in charge of the Venice grassroots campaign was example of Brill’s total lack of political acumen. Rothbauer was shown to be completely incompetent in leading any get out the vote campaign.
Rothbauer is a former Democrat from Wisconsin and former Mary Kaye salesperson, who was the campaign manager for the disastrous Martin Hyde campaign against U.S Congressman Vern Buchanan.
Local political observers are asking how this recently arrived Democrat from Wisconsin, who ran the disastrous Hyde campaign has become Vice Chair of the REC, Chair of the local NOVA Republican club, heading up the REC grassroots organization and recent hire at New College with a $85,000 salary in charge of recruiting donors.

Rothbauer got that New College gig with a letter of recommendation from Sydney Gruters the wife of State Senator Gruters, who is making over $200,000 at New College.

As a candidate running for office, one would normally expect a well-organized, well-oiled support base provided by the Republican Executive Committee’s (REC) Chairman and his staff to assist the overall campaign, allowing the candidate to focus on their own specific campaign issues and platform.
In this instance though, the two Venice City Council conservative candidates in the recent City of Venice election were smothered by the REC – their campaign teams felt subordinate to the REC campaign directives. Outside volunteer offers, including some from within their district, were spurned by the REC, disappointing those who offered to help and causing ill-will all around.
To combat this daunting Democrat challenge, the REC offered a tepid boots-on-the-ground campaign using out-of-date data of little use for door knocking, no serious phone banking that few saw results from, and an email/flyer campaign, featuring the misspelling of a Republican candidate’s name with one of the liberals, i.e. using Farrell instead of Feller! The REC did nothing to dispel the prevalent false rumors.

After the defeat in Venice clearly showing that Brill has no political skills to run any political campaign, it is absurd that the past Chairman of the RPOF and Florida Senator Gruters continues to support and promote Brill, who led the failed campaigns of the two Republicans in Venice and has deeply divided the local REC.
The reason is quite simple in that Gruters is in the pockets of Neal and his establishment cronies and has no problem that Neal and his “Pay to Play” developers have taken control of the REC and that Brill is their handpicked choice to run the REC.

Brill and Gruters also had no problem watching, as a 68 CONVICTED felon and deposed ACLU President Michael Barfield led a narrative to run Ziegler out as Chairman of the RPOF.

Both Gruters and Brill led the charge to remove Ziegler at RPOF meetings to dispose Ziegler. At the same time, the local liberal press led by Jacob Ogles and Sarasota Herald reporters followed Barfield's salacious Ziegler narrative fed by outrageous leaks from the Sarasota Police Department.

While Ogles was following up on Barfield's salacious narrative, Ogles continued writing "puff pieces" on Gruters for SRQ magazine and Florida Politics, which he has been doing for years.
It made no difference to Brill and Gruters that alleged criminal charges against Ziegler were lies and were salacious sensationalized by those outrageous leaks from the SPD.
Gruters essentially stabbed Ziegler in the back and had him arrested for concealing a weapon, as he moved on the be elected a Florida’s National Committeeman with a 207 to 204 vote. Gruters squeezed by an America First candidate with the support of his establishment cronies in Tallahassee.
THE LOCAL REC UNDER BRILL’S LEADERSHIP HAS MAJOR FLAWS

With Ziegler long gone and no one under Brill’s leadership finding anywhere near the technical skills Ziegler possess to identify the voters for Republican candidates, the local REC has a major problem.
Add that to America First grassroots activists led by Brunni refusing to follow Brill’s inept leadership, the local REC needs someone other than Brill to bring the REC together and lead them in the present 2024 election cycle. t
