Michael Barfield, who could not pass a background check to flip burgers at McDonald's, has joined the BRODY BUNCH with a $500 contribution to elect Hagen Brody to the Sarasota County Commission. The $500 will assist Brody in winning the Democrat primary for County Commission against Fredd Atkins and Mike Cosentino.
BARFIELD HAS 68 CONVICTED FELONS
Barfield, who is a convicted felon with 68 felonies by his own admission and has served three separate sentences in the Florida and Fderal prison systems.
Federal and State of Florida felony offenses of the over 68 CONVICTED felonies that Barfield had pladed guily were five Federal felony offenses, which were conspiracy, obstruction of justice, perjury before a federal grand jury, and two separate wire fraud schemes. Barfield was sentenced to ten yers in the Federal Bureau of Prison system, fined $7,500, and ordered to pay $50,000 in retitution. Barfield did 6 years of a 10 year sentence.
"A CON MAN'S CON MAN" is how U.S District Judge Richard Lazzara, who prior to sentencing Barfield to 10 years in U.S Federal prison, described Barfield. That Federal prison sentence followed two Florida State prison incarcerations.

Barfield filed five bogus Sunshine law violations against Robin DeSabatino in Manatee, Sue Lang in Venice, Susan Chapman in Sarasota and Sarasota School Board members Jane Goodwin and Shirley Brown. In those lawsuits Barfield attempted to destroy both politically and financially those five local women politicians.

Evidently, Equality Florida has no problem with Brody for over two hours holding City of Sarasota women employees in a near hostage situation. Equality Florida joined the BRODY BUNCH and endorsed Brody, no doubt with recomendation of another BRODY BUNCH member, Ken Shelin. For Equality Florida to endorse Brody ovr Cosentino and Atkins, especially Atkins who has been major Black and political leader in Sarasota for years - long before Brody entered politics.

The "Con Man's Con Man" Barfield conned and manipulated Cathy Antunes and members of her organization when Barfield and his legal partner Andrea Mogensen got involved in pushing a local successful term limit legislation to assist the owner of the topless Cheetah Lounge in Sarasota.
Barfield failed to inform Antunes that he was getting paid by Ken Tatarow, owner of the Cheetah Lounge, who wanted to get rid of former Sarasota County Commissioner Nora Patterson.

Patterson had been pushing Sarasota County attorney Ken DeMarsh for over ten years to confirm that activities at the Cheetah violated Sarasota County ordinances that regulate sexually oriented businesses.

Sarasota County had filed a court motion in 2014 that sought criminal and civil penalties – and attempted to seize Cheetah’s liquor license — for failing to comply with a court order by allowing topless dancers on at least two occasions. It failed.
Patterson
Barfield and Mogensen led legal action to pass term limits legislation. They succeeded and Patterson was gone within a year after being term limited out of office.

There are multimillion dollar local developer Hugh Culverhouse Jr. and local restaurant owner Sharon Carole, who are contributors to a PAC put together by Bentley called Sarasota for Local Leadership. Culverhouse gave $5,000; Carol gave $10,000 and Bentley gave a $1,000. Culverhouse has given Brody an additional $1,000.
Smith
Culverhouse has hedged his bet on Brody with 4, $1,000 contributions to Mark Smith in the Republican primary for Sarasota Couny Commission. Smith is running against Lourdes Ramirez who has refused contributions from developers.
With the Brody PAC, there is a Barfield connection. For example, there is $6,773 expenditure from the Brody PAC to Stones Phones in Rancho Las Mirage, California to place "push calls" for Brody's County Commission campaign.
The same Stone Phones company on 11/1/2018 received $55,024 from a PAC called Committee to Advance Constitunal Values managed by the 68 CONVICTED. On 11/5/2018 another $194,975 to Stone Phones in Rancho Mirage, California came from the Barfield managed PAC..
NEAL DUMPS BRODY
Local developer Pat Neal originally had his eye on Brody and was a early member of the BRODY BUNCH. Brody was recommended to Neal by Republican Joel Schleicher. Schleicher had already had stuffed Brody in his pocket. Brody had shown Schleicher that as City Commissioner, Brody would deliver for the "Pay to Play" developers in the City of Sarasota.

Brody had impressed Schleicher when he ousted Sarasota City Commissioner Willie Shaw with his flunky Kyle Battie for the City Commission and cozied up with City Commissioner Eric Arroyo to take control of City Hall. Both Schleicher and Neal were impressed how the THREE BRO'S, with Brody's lead, followed the direction of Schleicher and his Argus cronies.
Neal got second thoughts on Brody, who has had problems with women voters, after his two hour-f-bomb harangue at Sarasota City Hall, which terrorized City Hall women employees. Brody went near violent in an f bomb ranting and raving outrage about not getting proper recognition for an event at the Van Wezel.
After Neal took a close look at Brody's failure at the States Attorney's office, his personnel finances which put Brody at a negative $95,000, no private sector job, living off of City Commission salary of $27,000 arnd his home which look like a homeless shelter, Neal pulled the plug on Brody.
